Meet Angela Jeter, RN, BSN, who will celebrate nine years with the Charles Lea Center this August. She first came to the organization through an agency position but quickly found that the welcoming atmosphere and meaningful mission made it a place she wanted to stay.

Angela says what she enjoys most about working at the Charles Lea Center is sharing her nursing knowledge with staff and the people supported, as well as advocating for their healthcare needs. Her passion for helping others is what drew her to the field, and she appreciates that her role allows her to make a difference every day.

As a Registered Nurse, Angela plays an important role in ensuring individuals supported by the Charles Lea Center receive the care they need. She communicates with physicians, hospitals, and therapists to help coordinate medical care and reduce healthcare disparities within the intellectual and developmental disabilities community. Because some individuals may not always be able to speak for themselves about their health, Angela works to ensure their needs are clearly communicated and addressed. Her responsibilities also include auditing medications, administering injections, and assessing health-related concerns.

Angela has continued to build on her nursing education throughout her career. She earned her Diploma in Practical Nursing from Piedmont Technical College, an Associate Degree in Nursing from Greenville Technical College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Claflin University in 2022.

Outside of work, Angela enjoys shopping and organizing her home, and spending time with her three children and her Maltipoo.

The Charles Lea Center is grateful for Angela’s dedication, expertise, and commitment to advocating for the health and well-being of the people we support. 💚
