The Charles Lea Center is one of Spartanburg County's best kept secrets. Not only does the Center help people with disabilities and special needs, but it helps Spartanburg's economy as well. Providing more than 550 employees with employment and bringing over $28 million dollars into Spartanburg County each year, the Center is one of Spartanburg's largest companies and the county’s second-largest nonprofit (behind Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.)

The Charles Lea Center is led and governed by one of South Carolina's most prestigious and committed Board of Directors. The membership of the Board has expertise in all areas of need, including banking, construction, business, personnel, education, medicine, community leadership and legal. The Center's Board makes most decisions via committees. Each committee has been assembled so as to bring the most expertise possible to perspective issues.
