The LEAF Program was established in 1993 to address the desire for retirement from employment settings. This program also addresses the various life challenges that many older individuals with mental retardation and related disabilities are faced with including Alzheimer's Disease and dementia. The curriculum for these individuals is cognitively based with a focus on the retention of daily living skills. The program incorporates community inclusion opportunities through volunteerism with Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, intergenerational therapy, pet therapy and sensory motor activities to enhance quality of life.
